Srinagar july 2 : India recorded 46,617 new novel coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to over 3.04 crore, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
As per the 8 am update by the Health Ministry, 853 deaths were reported across the nation in the same time, making India the third country after US and Brazil to record over 4 lakh (400312) fatalities due the deadly virus so far.
Moreover, India’s active caseload has declined to 5,09,637 and active cases constitute 1.67 percent of total cases.
The Health Ministry said there have been 2,95,48,302 total recoveries across the country so far, out of which 59,384 patients have recovered during the last 24 hours.
Daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 50th consecutive days and the recovery rate increases to 97.01 per cent, the Health Ministry said, adding that weekly positivity rate remains below 5 per cent and currently stands at 2.57 per cent.
As per the MoHFW, daily positivity rate stands at 2.48 per cent, which is less than 5 per cent for 25 consecutive days.
The Health Ministry said that testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and a total of 41.42 crore tests have been conducted.
Regarding the vaccinations, MoHFW informed that 34 Crore Vaccine Doses (34,00,76,232) have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive across the nation.
