Anantnag July 15: Youth of Ainoo Ashmuqam village area of a south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today complained about the non-availability of playground in their area due to which they are not able to participate in sports activities.
According to a group of youth while talking to a “Daily Uqab” said that We have appealed and requested the concerned officials several times to demarcate a piece of state land for playground in their area but to no avail. We are leading a confined life which is taking a heavy toll on our mental and physical health,” they added.
They said that there is lot of state land lying vacant in their area which can be converted into a playground but due to the government apathy it is not being utilized for the said purpose. They request the higher authorities to look into the matter and demarcate a piece of state land in village for sports activities.
However Bilal Ahmad a local youth said that sports activity is a route to erase the menace of drug abuse, he said that government should organize different sports events to divert the youth of the valley towards sports activities so that they cannot get involved in any kind of depression which leads them to take the risk of drugs, he said
Bilal added that despite having Pursued MPED degrees we are unable to practice due to the lack of playground in our village, he said.
