As per the morning update of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday, 1,321 fatalities due to the Covid-19 were reported in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 3,91,981.
The country’s active caseload has declined to 6,27,057, MoHFW said, adding that there has been 2,90,63,740 total recoveries across the country so far, out of which 68,885 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
As per the Health Ministry, daily recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 42nd consecutive day. The recovery rate has increased to 96.61 per cent.
Moreover, the weekly positivity rate remains below 5 percent and currently stands at 3.04 per cent, MoHFW said, adding that the daily positivity rate stands at 2.91 per cent which is less than 5 per cent for 17 consecutive days.
The Health Ministry also said that the testing capacity has substantially ramped up and a total of 39.78 crore tests have been conducted so far.
