Ganderbal, Jun 17: Locals and hoteliers at Sonamarg are happy with the surge in tourist rush to the high-altitude destination.

Hoteliers as well as locals told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that such heavy footfall of tourists is witnessed after many years.

Mushtaq Ahmad, a local Ponywala from Gagangeer said they expect a good season this year with the arrivals.

A group of hoteliers told KNO that almost 95 percent hotel rooms remain booked on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer, Sonamarg Development Authority, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather told KNO that above 4 lakh visitors visited Sonamarg in the last five months—(KNO)
