Pulwama: Chairman Standing Committee Health, District Development Council Pulwama Dr Harbaksh Singh has appreciated the health department for keeping open health facilities in rural areas for patient care.

Welcoming the decision of Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, the Chairman said that it is a good decision which will not hamper the delivery of health care services in rural areas of the Valley.

Dr Harbaksh Singh, who is DDC member from Tral, said that amid winter when snow and bad weather disrupts connectivity of rural areas with the towns and the Srinagar city, the patients can avail health facilities in their own areas when OPDs and IPDs remain open.

He said that while the step of the DHSK is praiseworthy and for public good, the patients and their attendants should follow COVID SOPs to prevent the spread of the virus.

Singh further said that people should avoid unnecessary visits to the health centers so as not to burden doctors and paramdedical staff who are at the frontline battling the deadly virus.

He said that from since the outbreak of the virus, the doctors and other health staff have been at the frontline and are dealing with the challenging situation for public good.

“People should consider their safety as well and avoid visiting health care centers for minor complaints,” he said.
