Man held for demanding, accepting bribe on behalf of J&K Grameen Bank branch head

Jammu, Oct 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a private person on the allegations of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant on behalf of Branch Head, J&K Grameen Bank.

According to a statement issued to the news agency, CBI had registered a case against Branch Head, J&K Grameen Bank, Parliwand Branch, Kathua (J&K) and a private person on a complaint.

It was alleged that the Branch Head, J&K Grameen Bank demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant through the said private person for processing and sanctioning a Housing Loan of Rs 20 lakh of the complainant’s father.

CBI laid a trap and caught the private person while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 (part payment of bribe), the statement said, adding that the searches are being conducted at the premises of both the accused at Kathua (J&K).

The arrested accused will be produced today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Jammu, it said
