Amid dip in covid 19 cases in J&K, People in Pahalgam are hoping for commencement of Amarnath yatra to earn their livelihood

Anantnag: People in Pahalgam are hoping for the commencement of the Yatra 2021, ealier The Shrine Board, keeping in view the foremost concern of the safety and security of the pilgrims, decided that a 56-days Yatra would commence on June 28 on auspicious day of ‘Ashaad Chaturthi’ as per Hindu Calendar and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 22 but due to the recent surge in Civid 19 cases across the country the register for yatra was cancelled and no decision has been taken yet regarding Amarnath yatra 2021.

An Important meeting was held by both center government and J&K UT administration  few days at new Dehli on Amarnath yatra 2021 but no decision has been taken yet.

talking to Daily Uqab Ghulam Hassan, a local resident of Pahalgam said that “We are eagerly waiting for Amarnath yatra to commence as due to pandemic our economic condition is growing from bad to worse, it becomes tough for us to meet even two time meals.

He said that ” A Major population of Pahalgam is dependent on tourism sector and from last few years this sector has been badly hit by first abrogation of Article 370 and now the covid 19 lockdown, if Amarnath yatra commences  people of pahalgam will get relief, he said
