Stresses to focus on grey water conservation, Plastic Free Rural India
ANANTNAG, JULY 05: Additional Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Rural Sanitation, Government of India, Arun Baroka accompanied by various concerned functionaries visited Anantnag and reviewed the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Phase-2 besides taking a brief appraisal of other sponsored schemes and programmes in a meeting of concerned officers, here.
The meeting was attended by DDC Chairman Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi, DDC Dr. Piyush Singla, Director Rural sanitation Tariq Ahmad Ganie, BDC Chairpersons, ACD Ideel Saleem, BDOs and other concerned.
On the occasion, the Additional Secretary took stock of various aspects of SBM and its allied components wherein he was briefed about its current status and position.
After taking a holistic review, the Additional Secretary stressed for mobilising all available resources effectively so that desired results are achieved. He directed to work in coordination besides sorting out all the issues in stipulated time frame.
Baroka emphasised on making efforts for plastic free rural India, grey water conservation besides proper rural sanitation and solid and liquid waste management.
Lauding the district for its commendable work in SBM Phase-1, the Additional Secretary impressed upon the officers to focus on more areas during the 2nd Phase.
