Domestic Violence cases witnesses sharp rise in District Anantnag, 250 above cases registered from last two years in Anantnag District, officials

Allegations from both sides’ leaves people in lurch, investigation is under process, police.

Anantnag: The incident of Harnag Anantnag shocked the whole people of District Anantnag, after the family members of 27 year old deceased women alleged that their daughter were murdered by the in-laws here in Harnag area of South kashmir’s Anantnag District on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Wednesday 18 January in Harnag area of South kashmir Anantnag District which is far about 4 kms from the main town of Anantnag.

According to the family members of the deceased women said that they have received a phone call from her in-laws on Wednesday morning that their daughter is I’ll and is admitted in GMC Anantnag, when we reached in GMC Anantnag we found that she was lying in the shroud, said the family members of the deceased women, in a video clip which went viral on social media. They Alleged that their daughter was killed by in-laws on dowry issues as they demands more money and gold from the deceased women. They said

The relationship from both husband and wife was not good from the last one year said sister of deceased women in a video clip which also went viral on social media. In an another video clip her friend alleged that the husband of the deceased women told to deceased wife that to send their 6 year old child home if you not willing to come home. She said

The family members of the deceased women alleged that she has been constantly tortured by her In Laws over dowry issues. She has been ill treated regularly by her In Laws. They said.

Added that there has been contradictory statements made the family members of her in laws including her husband, Mother in law etc, Before SHO, her husband claimed that she was sleeping with Mother in law, she didn’t wake up at all and had died during night. Then in another statement, Her husband and his mother claimed that she served them tea etc and then suddenly felt down and died. They said

However the in-laws of the women while said in the defense that they have not killed daughter in law while she has been died due to cardiac arrest by natural death. They refutes all the allegations of the family members of the deceased women and mourns the death of the women.

In a video clip the family members of the in-laws requested to the media to listen both sides of families, so that people also want to listen their version.

when the story broke out on social media platforms on Wednesday 18 January, Several social media platforms have carried this story on their walls which they have not got any official quote for confirmation. Every social media platform was on hurry to get the likes and shares for boosting their pages left both families including the Anantnag District people in lurch. Not even a single page admin had wrote an official version so that people know about the case.

Meanwhile Anantnag district is witnessed sharp rise in domestic violence’s from the last two years, said an official who is working in one stop center here in Anantnag District. Police have lodged an FIR No 21/22 under section 304 and starts investigation. Official said. Added that Before this case at least 250 above domestic violence cases were registered in District Anantnag but till date among some were solved and some are under process. The official said.

The objective of the One Stop Centres (OSC) are intended to support women affected by violence, both in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture will be facilitated with support and redressal.

Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have reached out or been referred to the OSC will be provided with specialized services. To facilitate immediate, emergency and non – emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counseling support under one roof to fight against any forms of violence against women.

However while Talking to the “Daily Uqab” a police official said that the investigation is under process and both the families should wait till the forensic report will come, he said.
