Baig was accompanied by his wife Safina, who heads the District Development Council, Baramulla.

“Yes, he visited with Safina ji, ” said a PDP leader.

It is learnt that Baig visited Mehbooba’s house to inquire about the health of her mother.

However, soon after the meeting, there were speculation that the meeting may be an effort by Baig to reopen the channels with the party.

Baig, who was founding member of the PDP, resigned from the party in November 2022. He was associated with the party since its inception in 1998. (UNI)
