Srinagar 11 October: One militant affiliated with Laskhar-e-Toiba (TRF) was killed in an encounter in North Kashmir Bandipora’s Gund Jahangir Hajin area on Monday morning and another militant was killed in a nocturnal encounter in Khagund Verinag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag.

The slain militant has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT (TRF), as per IGP-K Vijay Kumar.

Dar, who was killed in an encounter in Bandipora, was involved in a recent civilian killing at Shahgund Bandipora, said Police quoting IGP.

It is pertinent to mention that in the Bandipora district, one civilian, identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone alias Sonu, a sumo stand President, was killed by militants last week.

Following his killing, the district police were on the ball to nab the attackers behind Lone’s killing.

However, yesterday police said that a LeT (TRF) module was busted in Bandipora in which four militant associates, involved in the conspiracy behind the killing of a civilian Mohd Shafi Lone, were arrested.

On the other side in Anantnag encounter, one unidentified militant was killed in a nocturnal gunfight in the district’s Khagund area of Verinag. As per police, besides the killing of a militant in the area, one policeman also got injured in the encounter.
