Kupwara, Apr 07 : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) and recovered incriminating material from him in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that a joint team Police Station Sogam, along with 28 RR and 162 Bn CRPF has apprehended one OGW from Gudmacher area of Lolab Kupwara.
He identified the arrested OGW as Owais Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Muhammad Khan of Khancheck Tekipora Lolab.
“During preliminary investigation, he was found to be in contact with a Pakistani based militant handler, who had motivated him to join militant ranks. Some incriminating material has also been seized from the arrested person,” the spokesman said.
“Further investigation in the case has been taken up and more arrests in this network cannot be ruled out,” he added
