New Delhi, Nov 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed deep grief and anguish over the loss of lives in a strong earthquake that hit Nepal on Friday night.
“Deeply saddened by loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families and we wish the injured a quick recovery,” PM Modi wrote on X.
A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck remote western Nepal at 23:47 local time on Friday late night (1802 GMT), killing at least 128 people and injuring 140 others.
The earthquake damaged many houses, buildings and infrastructure facilities. (UNI)
