Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who is in the city to participate in the Women’s Rights Conference organised by its Principal ally, the ruling DMK, on Saturday held discussions with the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) Leaders on the 2024 Lok Sabha poll preparedness.
The meeting, held at a star hotel, where Ms Sonia is staying, was also attended by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Senior leaders, including TNCC President K.S.Alagiri and Congress Legislature Party Leader K.Selvaperunthagai, took part in the meeting. The Congress in a social media post said “CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji and Congress General Secretary @priyankagandhi ji met the office-bearers and workers of the Tamil Nadu Pradesh Congress Committee in Chennai” and also shared photos of the meeting.
Party sources said that both Ms Sonia and Ms Priyanka were briefed about the preparations undertaken for the Lok Sabha polls. They also discussed about the poll strategy and seat-sharing prospects with the DMK.at the meeting.
Earlier, a delegation of Congress leaders from Puducherry also met Ms Sonia Gandhi in the hotel and held discussions about the Lok Sabha polls.
